The Villa Savoye is considered by many to be the seminal work of the Swiss architect Le Corbusier. Situated at Poissy, outside of Paris, it is one of the most recognisable architectural presentations of the International Style.

We modelled this iconic building as accurately as we could using references we found online and turned it into an interactive walk-through presentation for PC, Mac and the Oculus Rift VR headset. The viewer could travel around the design in 3D, exploring the layout and getting a "feel" for the space - a virtual design review.

Virtual reality (VR) is a powerful tool for immersing people within designs and helping them "feel" what that space would be like. This fits extremely well when showcasing different architectural designs for a building and people need to choose the options they like best. It is often hard to imaging these designs in real-world scale and compare how their differences impact the space. Presenting 3D visual information that users can walk around in VR is the quickest and clearest way to get this information across.
